Established in 1987, the family here at Johann Paul Jewelers has over 200 years of combined experience in all facets of the jewelry industry.
From the most seemingly impossible repair, to the delicate complex art of jewelry restoration, we use all the technical equipment available combined with old-world craftsmanship.
Our design team at Johann Paul Jewelers has done a fabulous job of procuring many award winning designers to represent our store. Many of these designers have won the coveted Spectrum Award, much like an Academy Award but translated to jewelry. We are also proud to showcase J B Star, a design team that won the "Best in Diamonds" award.
Of course we must mention our awesome customers who have voted us six times as the "Best Jewelers in Marin" via the Pacific Sun.
Pacific Sun: Best Jewelers in Marin 2006, 2007, 2012, 2013, 2014
Marin Magazine: 2012 Editors Choice Award

While of Dutch descent, Johann deBlaauw was raised in New Zealand where he trained as an aircraft engineering specialist. During this time he was selected out of 70 tradesmen to work on the prototype of the CT4 pilot air trainer and the B.D.5.J. for the small jet used in the James Bond movie Octopussy.
During a 1975 holiday to the States with his longtime friend, and current business partner Paul Comerford, Johann ignited his life-long passion for jewelry design and manufacturing which led to the creation of Kiwi Gold and later Johann Paul Jewelers.
Robyn deBlaauw was born and raised in New Zealand. Upon leaving highsc hool she worked as a nurse before coming to the United States in 1975. Johann met her in Los Angeles and they came to Marin County in 1975. Robyn has been working with Johann and Paul ever since initially keeping the books, and building wax models for Johann to cast into rings.
In 1984 she graduated from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in diamond grading and pearls. Robyn has managed the office and inventory at Johann Paul Jewelers for many years, and has her own group of very special customers.
Today she serves on the board of the Guatemalan Book Project, a Marin County nonprofit dedicated to providing books to schools in Guatemala. She also does volunteer work with the Pachamama Alliance, a nonprofit based in San Francisco, deditcated to world justice and sustainability. She is currently enrolled in studies in herbal medicine. She married Johann in 1979 and they have 2 beautiful daughters and a darling six year old granddaughter whom she dearly loves.
Paul Comerford was born and raised in Hamilton, New Zealand where he completed an apprenticeship in the fine art of hand engraving. He was awarded the prestigious honor of creating three of the country's National Gold Medals given to the three most accomplished athletes of the year.
Paul evolved into a "Master Engraver" and artist creating the distinctive "Kiwi Gold" line of hand engraved wedding rings and jewelry with business partner Johann deBlaauw. The highly sought after designs are still sold nationwide and at Johann Paul Jewelers today.
Originally from New York, I moved to Northern California in the early 1970's and began my sales career doing trunk shows in Navy and Coast Guard exchanges all through out California for a small wholesale company called Rafael Jewelry based in San Rafael.
From there I worked part time in a few different stores until I became a partner in Paris 1925 where we specialized in platinum diamond estate jewelry from the Art Deco period along with a large collection of both high end vintage and new watches. There is where my true passion for jewelry and selling was born. I took a four year break after Paris 1925 closed to pursue a Psychology degree at Dominican University. I received a call one day from my old friend, Johann, asking me if I would be interested in working at the store part-time. Of course I answered, "Yes!". It is here that I have a loyal client base, where I love designing and selling diamonds.
